The Truncated series combines drawing, prints, sculpture, and found objects to question social and cultural values, perceptions, and expectations. The use of 2- and 3-D techniques in the cast torsos and limbs challenge assumptions about appearance and reality: the surface drawings that cover them evoke tattoos (suggesting a “marked” person), which mask what the sculptural forms convey. The other bodies are collaged with prints.
