The Fez as Storyteller, Eskell’s current series, is a group of mixed-media sculptures and works on paper that examines the social and psychological impact of the artist’s Iraqi-Jewish and Indian cultural history and familial heritage to root out the influences, embedded patriarchal systems, and gender bias that perpetuate over generations.
